As a member of the Senior Executive Group and reporting to the Executive Vice President (Australia and NZ), my role over the past five years is the culmination of a highly successful and progressive career from the grass roots of sales through to general management of business units generating revenues of approximately $12M in Australia and $10M in the USA.

Responsible for driving the strategic and operational direction of the organisation with direct accountability for the performance of my region, I was responsible achieving ever challenging profit results through the innovative training, development and motivation of professional sales and leadership professionals.

Key Career Highlights with Combined Insurance:

  • Awarded ‘Top Performer in Division’ in 2007, finishing 4th out of 61 Regional Managersin North America.
  • Selected for promotion to the position of Regional Manager based in Texas USA in 2005; where I was mentored by leading senior managers and built a highly profitable region over a 3 year period.
  • Succeeded in growing the North Texas Region to achieve a Top 10 on the Best Regions in North America ranking in 2006.
  • Selected to participate in a management program for the top 20 performing Executives (The ‘A’ Team) in North America.
  • Earned Convention attendance on 18 occasions; including as an Executive each year since 2005.
  • Of the 18 attendances at Convention, I was an Annual Award Winner on 5 occasions.
  • Achieved the “Ring of Diamonds” status in 1996, as a result of achieving the Grand Diamond on 8 separate occasions.
  • Achieved my first milestone promotion after just six months as a Sales Representative.

Key Deliverables:

Business Performance:

  • Develop and implement strategic and operational business plans.
  • Develop and implement control measures to monitor performance across key business drivers.


Operations Management:

  • Analyse and monitor key business drivers to set activity targets and manage work flow.
  • Accurately analyse a wide range of complex financial data within challenging time frames to ensure the satisfaction of clients and the optimisation of business opportunities within legislative and regulatory guidelines.

Human Resources:

  • As Lead Recruiter for Queensland, manage the recruitment and selection of personnel to build highly motivated and effective sales teams.
  • Coach, train and develop teams of District and Territory Sales Managers to manage teams of contracted representatives.
  • Oversee the management team to ensure the culture of training, coaching, mentoring and development is cascaded throughout the organisation.

Sales Management:

  • Drive sales, continually stretching individuals and teams to expand their ideas of what is achievable through individual development plans that are linked with personal and professional goals.
  • Conduct monthly Evaluation Meetings to monitor and review progress and deliver appropriate coaching.
  • Conduct weekly team meetings to align operational priorities.
  • Coordinate and conduct a rigorous program of information and training sessions including selling skills, product information, personal development, and regulatory and compliance sessions.

Presentations:

  • Prepare and deliver engaging presentations to audiences of up to 300 people at various conferences, conventions and regular Senior Executive Meetings.
  • Create and deliver motivation and skills based presentations to staff and clients.

Budget Management:

  • Analyse and interpret data for reporting and establishing operational priorities.
  • Monitor sales and expenses to deliver outcomes to budget.

Professional Development:

  • Participate in extensive and ongoing professional development training including a 1.5 year New Frontier Development program completed in 2008 and a 1 year Managing for Excellent program in 2006.

Marketing

  • Increase Brand awareness within the business community through a range of local, regional and national initiatives.
  • Lead product campaigns, developing marketing strategies and coordinating team activities to optimise campaign results.

Compliance & Risk

  • Ensure operational compliance across the region subject to rigorous audit processes.
  • Oversee regional administration to ensure accurate data capture.

  • Prepare and present monthly reports to the Senior Executive Group including extensive data analysis and graphical demonstrations of findings.
